Pizza Randy- Best Pizza In Manzanillo
Recommending Pizza is a daunting thing to do. We are former New Yorkers and not much outside the Big Apple lives up to our expectations. Everyone has their deeply held opinion about what is a good pizza, so it is dangerous ground to tread. In all honesty it costs about $1000 to get an awesome pizza ($900 round trip ticket to NY, $100 round trip cab fare, and $20 for the pie). We have learned to have a more modest expectation of buying pizza in Manzanillo. When it comes to recommending pizza here we always say Pizza Randy in La Joya.
A large pizza with 2 toppings is 79 pesos. That sure beats Dominoes and Benedetti’s 200 peso price tag. Randy’s is a little shop where 2 workers make your pizza in front of you. All the standard toppings are there, but be aware that the sausage is actually delicious chorizo. The accompanying hot sauce on the side adds Mexican flare. Go easy on this, it is liquid fire.
We like supporting this local pizza shop over an overcrowded, overpriced mediocre chain. To get there- When you are heading down the main boulevard, Miguel de la Madrid, and you arrive at the intersection where the entrance to Las Hadas is on one side and El Chipotle is on the other, head towards El Chipotle, after a few lights, you will see it on the right hand side. They also deliver. The number is 33-465-65.

Looks like I have to go check this place out, I have been wanting some really good pizza while in Manzanillo!
oh, do I ever hear you on the NY pizza vs. the rest of the world. Amazingly, a Neopolitan pizza place just opened here. But we also have higher expectations, what with living in a capital city of 6 million! I do like the pizza-gone-local varieties that you can get in some places, but will never understand the corn on pizza (Chile, Japan, who knows where else!).
i think that’s great! i wish they would advertise it though, that ways more people would know about that great place.
I finally got a chance to try this place, thanks for the referral it was great! Great price and it sure beats frozen pizza. Thanks again for letting me know about it!
Buena pizza se las recomiendo.

Hey, this is good pizza. But, there is a new-comer on the block. Try the pizza at Coco Loco’s. I rate this number one in Manzanillo, with Napoli’s restaurant second, then Chipotle’s, then Randy’s. Give it a try, you’ll like it.
The BEST pie in town will be opening in Santiago soon!!!!!
Derek MacKay, formerly associated with Coco Locos is almost ready to open the all new SAM’S PIZZERIA in Santiago.
The oven is complete, with small finishing touches to go only.
For those of you who have previously experienced Derek’s pies,in Manzanillo you KNOW the delicious pizzas Derek is famous for.
There’s also some surprises in new cuisine that SAM’S will offer as well.
Fast, friendly, home delivery of mouth watering pies will be available for Santiago residents only soon!!!
Watch for SAM’S PIZZERIA, opening on the corner, directly across from the Scuba Shack in the coming weeks!!
Live outside Santiago? Don’t worry, you can order pick service, and take a first hand peak for yourself.

I kept hearing about pizza Randy and saw the posts on this site. Always on the lookout for good pizza we finally went to Pizza Randy excited to enjoy a good pie. Sorry, but this pizza is mediocre at best. The crust has no texture other than reminiscence of pan bimbo.
The sauce is tasteless and the cheese low quality. Several of the items on the pizza were canned. For thin pizza Portofino is about the best around with Pergola and El Chapotle close.
For the best all around pizza, crust, ingredients sauce and cheese quality Pizza Napoli is light years ahead of Piza Randy or any other thicker crust places in town.
My recommendation is stay away from pizza Randy ,sorry, but store bought pizza is just as good.
I would be inclined to agree with you now. For a while there, it was impossible to find good cheap pizza in Manzanillo, especially one that delivered. Randy filled that niche, but it’s not as good as it used to be.
We recently discovered a new pizza place near Soriana in the newly constructed two level mall. We have yet to try it, but it looks to be very high quality with a wood fire oven, a beautiful terrace to eat on, and plenty of ambiance. The pizza’s are in the 100 peso range as well, and are more than enough for two people to share. We can’t wait to try it out.
It is called Va Que Vi and is marvelous.
Ok, it’s here.
If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out!

i’ll try sam’s pretty soon, cause benedettis pizza is awful! that pizzeria (benedettis) shouldn’t exist! yuck!
maybe there should be another pizza review, but this time around, on mall pizza. they’re not always the best, but when you’re in a hurry, a slice won’t kill ya.
plus, people usually have a ‘mall’ favorite with various pizza options at la comercial, walmart and soriana.
