well, it took me a while to get there, but i finally arrived at their nice little panaderia. and yes, you'll end up paying more for a piece of bread comapared to the prices they offer at the big box stores, but their bread is worth every penny, i meant pesos! they offer high quality.

they have a great selection of breads from croisants, muffins, chocolate breads, burger buns (yes!), and mexican favorites like the conchas and el 'pan del muerto'.

i enjoyed their fresh, baked right out the oven 'bolillo' loaf and actually had a great sandwich meal with it! their cinnamon rolls were pretty good too!

ps. the young man at the bakery is very nice, and actually spoke decent english. now that's very rare to find in manzanillo and the quality of service is excellent.

i shall visit that bakery again sometime!

I was able to find it the other day and the loaves I bought were still warm. The bread was very good but, I thought, a little bit pricey for the size of the loaf compared to other places in town where the bread isn't quite as good. I also bought a few croissants which were good and had a very slight sweetness to them.

The young man who helped me was very friendly and spoke enough English that it was very easy to communicate with him.

Thanks for the tip! I am a very finicky eater and it is nice to be able to add another vendor to my very short list.

Has anybody else found a bakery they liked in the area? Or a specific kind of pastry that is good? Back in Brooklyn they had this little Mexican sweetbread bakery. We got addicted to a certain kind of sweetbread they made with red sugar on top when it was fresh out of the oven. It was just across the street from a Dominican coffe shop. You can imagine how well the two went together.
