Miramar is by far the best beach in ZLO. In fact I believe it’s the only beach in ZLO, all the rest are very rocky with no place to sit and usually have lots of broken glass and scorpions. No sense looking anywhere else, nope, don’t even bother

I agree with Tarzan, Miramar is also my first choice. Something there for all, shopping for souveniers and a very long beach for walking. But my favorite is to rent an umbrella and just enjoy the view of the beautiful beach and bird watch all while having a nice cold cerveca. Can never spend too much time there. Ahhh heaven!!
Hey the best beach is Playa Azul …. For Skimboarding
You have to visit it.
We spent only one evening in the Manzanillo area several years ago, at Hotel Marlyn in Santiago, on the way from Melaque to Colima. We were not at all impressed with Playa Santiago…..we didn’t like the blackish sand or the broken glass. And Olas Altas, with the traffic blasting past so close, wasn’t our idea of an idyllic tropical beach either. If Santiago and Olas Altas were typical, we’d look elsewhere, but we’re sure there must be some great beaches in the Manzanillo area.
It depends on what I want to do. If I want to body surf, then Olas Altas. If I want to walk on the beach, then Miramar (note spelling). If I want to hang out and have a bite to eat, then La Boquita.
I don’t think there is one best beach as there are too many beach activities and one beach isn’t best for all of them.
The finest beach in Manzanillo is the Las Hadas beach where you can snorkel, swim, or just relax. That is why the movie 10 was filmed there with Bo Derek and Dudley Moore.
