Manzanillo Mexico Cruises
There has been a lot of talk recently about the new port in Manzanillo and how tourism will change. Centro’s cruise ship crowds may seem a little more scarce this year, but there are plenty of Mexico cruises planned in the years ahead. Here are a few to start with:
Holland America Line offers a stop in Manzanillo and various other Mexican cities as part of a Polynesian Paradise cruise of between 60-65 days that covers vast areas of the Pacific ocean including Hawaii, Bora Bora, Costa Rica, Peru, French Polynesia, Cook Islands and more. I can hardly imagine how fat I would be by the end of a 65 day cruise. They would probably have to hire Oompa Loompas to roll me off like Violet in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Fortunately, they also offer a shorter trip of between 15-30 days for the Incan Empires Cruise that stops in Inca spots from San Diego down to Peru, hitting Panama and various other Mexican places.
Royal Carribean has an 11 day Mexican Riviera Cruise that stops in our beloved Manzanillo and leaves from San Diego. Royal Carribean seems to extend a family friendly appeal for these trips with countless activities to keep every person in the family interested. And of course there is the food. Who doesn’t like to eat?
Carnival does a quickie Mexican cruise that is only 9 days and hits Acapulco, Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo, and Manzanillo.
Lesser known, yet well reviewed cruise line Silversea starts in Acapulco with stops in Ixtapa, Manzanillo, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas, Ensenada, and Los Angeles.
If you are feeling really adventurous and have no life to which you are required to be present at for 3 ½ months, try the Princess 104 night round the world cruise that starts in Sydney. Manzanillo is one of the many many destinations on the list. By the end of this cruise you will be so use to sleeping on the sea that you will need to get a waterbed. Oh and good luck remembering where you are at any given moment.
The Queen Victoria of the Cunard Cruise company offers a 25 night Panama Canal Discovery Cruise that hits Manzanillo as well. If that leaves you wanting more they also offer a Grand Panama Canal and Hawaii Adventure cruise for 39 nights! In between is the Panama Canal Treasure cruises of either 17 or 31 nights.
Finally, good ol’ Disney Cruises does a 15 night Panama Canal cruise that stops in Mexico, Panama, Aruba, and Costa Rica. The kids should love that one.
