Improving Your Cinepolis Movie-going Experience

Submitted by Manzanillo Blogger on Sunday, 25 January 20097 Comments

The local Cinepolis movie theater is a hot spot for the Manzanillo youth. After school and work hours, and especially on the weekends, the place is a hub of activity. A while back we wrote a post about the Cinepolis in Manzanillo.

My wife and I love going to the movies in Manzanillo. Coming from NYC where a movie cost $12 plus the subway fair to get there, and popcorn cost another $10- the Manzanillo Cinepolis movie theater is a refreshing change (when the movies are in English that is).

We just discovered though a couple nifty new things that will enhance any movie goers experience in Manzanillo:

•First you can book or reserve your tickets online before a movie, for less!

When you reserve your tickets online the ticket will only cost you 27 pesos! That's nearly half off what you pay at the counter. When you visit the Cinepolis website, just click the 'cineticket compra reserva' button on the right. You enter the information, and receive a confirmation code. Bring that confirmation code to the counter at Cinepolis, and you get your ticket for the special low low price. It works for any movie, anytime! No matter where you come from, that is a deal.

(We have heard unconfirmed rumors that you can also do something similar at some Kioskos, buying a movie ticket there for cheaper, and exchanging it at the counter in Cinepolis)

•Second (and most impressive) is the new (to us at least) concessions at Cinepolis.

You probably already know about the variety of popcorn you can get there. I personally love the caramel popcorn that they offer, though I recommend steering clear of the kettle corn.

However, did you also know you can get fresh crepes and espresso drinks at the concession stand? Yes, I said Fresh Crepes with your choice of filling: blackberry, nutella (our favorite), and a variety of others. Combine this freshly made, steaming and delicious crepe with a freshly brewed Mocha or other espresso drink, and you've got the recipe for movie snack heaven!

So there you go. Yet another reason why Cinepolis is the best movie theater ever.

What's your favorite snack food for eating at the movies?

Sounds like a ‘monthly’ poll is in order to find out the favorite snack at Cinépolis. Can the poll have multiple answers? Hmmm…

I like the caramel corn too. Although, the original movie theater is Las Garzas introduced me to hot sauce on my plain popcorn. Also good.

well speaking from a solely Canadian stand point i got hooked on this unique combo when i was about 10 from a friend of mine.
Step 1: 1 Tub of Semi Buttered Original Flavor Popcorn
Step 2: The Biggest box of Chocolate Closette Raisins you can buy
Step 3: Dumpem in to that Tub
Step 4: lightly shake the combo, too much and all your chocolaty goodness drops to the bottom
Step 5: Wait 3mins, you need time for it to melt just right
Step 6: Dig in, oh what bliss. Messy Ooey Gooey Fun. Plus it gives you a reason to lick your fingers and smack your lips together.

Ps. Attention ALL first time daters, do not do this as it is very messy and childish…YEAH!!!!

    PPs. Hey Aubrey! :)
