Best Burger In Manzanillo
People don't generally associate Mexico with hamburgers. However, since we moved here we have eaten more hamburgers per month than we ever did stateside. It may be that our stomachs just want a piece of home, or it may be that the beef here is just better. Regardless of the reason, once you try this hamburger, you too will be craving more.
Every day, from 8 PM to 3 AM, the man we've nicknamed the Iron Hamburger Chef opens his Burger-mobile for business in Santiago. He parks across the street from Scuba Shack, in the parking lot of the furniture store Gran Mueble. Innocent as it looks, this little diet destroyer cooks up the most delicious burger we've ever had. Between the half a kilo of butter he cooks every patty in, the perfectly toasted bun, the hand chopped tomatoes and onions, the ever delicious home made jalapeno relish, and the 20 peso price tag, you've got the best burger in Manzanillo hands down. He also makes a similarly delicious hotdog wrapped in bacon. I know!!
If you have an after hours craving, go check the place out, ask for "Una hamburguesa con todo por favor!" And enjoy.

When I was down in Manzanillo Mexico I had the treat of having one of these beauties. In a land draped in tacos, it was a nice treat to know they can do one mean burger. More props to them!
Quite popular with the locals too. His brother operates a second mobile cooking vehicle. I haven’t found it yet, but I know it is out there.
i haven’t eaten there yet, bit let me tell you that the super burger they serve at manzagrillo at manzanillo centro is the best! now that’s 50 pesos worth spendin’ on instead of a whopper at bk for the same price!
vikingo’s also has great burgers too!
What about a good cheese pizza?
I am dying for something better than the frozen ones I get from Walmart, but they are FAR better than any of the local ones I have tried yet and cost less than half the price.
Any help would be appreciated greatly.
Jeff, Check out Pizza Randy in La Jolla.
Directions: When heading down the main boulevard, turn down the street with the Chipotle restaurant on it and follow that road into La Jolla, on your right you will see Pizza Randy. They make a pretty decent pizza (our favorite) if Dominos and Benedittis isn’t your style.
i think any pizza is better than benedittis! that pizza is gross! where’s the flavor in it? it taste sooo plain….. yuck!
When ever I hear about a terrific hamburger in Mexico it’s always about the stuff they put on it. It’s never about the quality of the meat which IMO is the most important ingredient to me. That’s why I never eat them in Mexico. We have the best hamburger MEAT ground on site at our local Val’s restaurant. The Condiments only add to the BEEF flavor not disguise it.
Really? Did I forget to mention the burger? It is cooked to perfection, crispy delicious on the outside, warm and juicy on the inside. It is of the thinner savory variety, not your standard thick half a pound of meat.
It has been our experience that the beef here has been quite delicious peddler665. Far better than the quality of ground beef we’d find in the US supermarkets. Sorry you had a bad experience with the burgers in Mexico, I have yet to eat one (outside of Burger King) that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed.
Give this guy a try before you knock him. Seriously you might change your mind.
I’ve tried to find this guy several times. Has he moved? I have been looking across the street from the Scuba Shack, am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks!
Not that I know of. He is only open after 8 at night. He is in the Gran Mueble parking lot just across the street and a little north on the boulevard from Scuba Shack.
For sure these burgers are “dank” But good luck finding the place if you don’t live here…
